Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you wanted to know about Comfort Release.
How does the painless removal actually work?
Comfort Release uses a patented plant based polymer adhesive switch. When it is time to remove, swipe the adhesive border with rubbing alcohol or an alcohol prep pad. The adhesive releases for painless removal when used as directed.
Is it waterproof?
Select Comfort Release dressing options are designed for 100% Waterproof protection. Follow the approved product label for the specific product you are using.
How long can it be worn?
Follow the approved product label and care guidance for the specific Comfort Release product you are using.
Is it for kids, older adults, and fragile skin?
Comfort Release may be especially helpful for individuals with fragile, sensitive, delicate, or frequently treated skin. Follow product directions and consult a clinician for wound care questions.
Does Comfort Release support MARSI prevention protocols?
Comfort Release is designed for situations where secure wear and skin friendly removal both matter, including clinical workflows focused on medical adhesive related skin injury prevention.
Can a dressing be lifted and reapplied?
When product directions allow, the release activated with alcohol may support lifting to check the wound and reapplying with the same dressing. This can help reduce waste and cost compared with replacing the dressing every time.
How does Comfort Release compare to silicone bandages?
Silicone is often marketed as gentle, but it can migrate, move, or peel during daily activity. Comfort Release is designed for a secure acrylic hold during wear, then a controlled release activated with alcohol when it is time to remove.
Is Comfort Release safe for people with allergies?
Comfort Release products are hypoallergenic and are not made with natural rubber latex. They are designed for people with sensitive skin or a history of adhesive irritation.
Can I reposition a bandage if I place it wrong?
Use the approved product directions for the specific product you are applying. If removal is needed, use rubbing alcohol or an alcohol prep pad as directed.
Do you sell to hospitals and clinics?
Yes. We support hospitals, wound care clinics, long term care facilities, home health agencies, and surgery centers. Contact us at (888) 929-7555 for product details, samples, and ordering support.
What if I do not have rubbing alcohol handy?
Some product boxes include alcohol prep pads and alcohol prep pads are also available separately. Check the product details before ordering.
Is Comfort Release available for Veterans?
Comfort Release is working with VMD to support access for Veterans and VA connected care needs. Contact us for current availability, ordering support, and product guidance.
Can it help patients who fear painful removal?
The release activated with alcohol may help reduce anxiety around bandage changes for Veterans, patients with PTSD, and anyone with high pain sensitivity. Removing the ripping moment can make dressing changes calmer and more predictable.
Are there different qualities of triggered release bandages?
Yes. Comfort Release is the original patented technology built for secure wear, professional clinical use, and skin protection. It is not a low hold silicone substitute.
Why is your motto “Heal first… Pay Later!”?
It reflects a simple belief from our partner Mori: patient comfort and healing should come first. Comfort Release was built to make better adhesive care easier to access for families, clinicians, and Veterans.
Can I use Comfort Release on an open wound?
Comfort Release is a secondary dressing or bandage. The adhesive should only contact healthy skin surrounding the wound. Always follow your clinician’s wound bed protocol.
